Yes. Size 3 is designed for children ages 3–4. The child should be able to sit securely, place both feet on the stirrups, hold and turn the handles, and reach the brake. Start in an uncluttered, level area and guide the child through the movement until they can control the pony steadily.

Before the first ride, place the child in the saddle and confirm four points: both feet rest on the stirrups, the handles turn without strain, the brake is within reach, and the child remains balanced while seated. Then begin in a clear, level area and help them find the riding rhythm slowly.

Four is the boundary between the two sizes. Size 3 supports riders up to 25 kg, while Size 4 supports up to 40 kg. A smaller four-year-old may still fit Size 3 comfortably, while a taller child may be better suited to Size 4. Compare the child's height and inseam in the official PonyCycle® size guide before choosing. If the child is between sizes and is only slightly short of the pedals, a compatible PonyCycle® pedal pad can help them reach more comfortably; the child should still be able to steer and brake with ease.

Choose Classic Model U for the strongest all-round first ride, with smooth bearing-wheel movement, a realistic plush finish, and built-in pony sounds. Advanced Model Y is the more elaborate choice for a special birthday or Christmas present.
